Click the invite link and choose Accept Invite. With a code, click the + at the bottom of your server list, choose Join a Server and paste the code. It works the same on mobile.

- Click the invite link, for example discord.gg/something.
- If it opens in your browser, choose to open it in the Discord app or keep going in the browser.
- Click Accept Invite or Join. The server appears in your server list.

- Click the + (Add a Server) button at the bottom of your server list.
- Choose Join a Server.
- Paste the full link or just the code after discord.gg/, then click Join Server.
How to join a Discord server on mobile
Tapping an invite link on your phone opens it in the Discord app, then you tap Join. With a code, open your server list, tap +, choose Join a Server and paste the code. Same steps on iPhone, iPad and Android.
How to join a Discord server without a link
You can join public servers through Discord's Discover without an invite. For any other server you need an invite, which you can usually find on server list websites, the community's social media or by asking a member.
How to join a Discord server on Xbox or PS5
Consoles are for voice chat, not for joining servers. Join the server from your phone or PC first, then connect your console account to Discord and transfer the voice call to your Xbox or PlayStation.
"Invite invalid" or "invite expired"?
- The link may have expired. Many invites only last 7 days unless they're set to never expire.
- The invite may have hit its use limit.
- You might be banned from that server, or you're already in 100 servers, which is the limit without Nitro.
- Ask for a fresh invite or find the server on a server list, where links are kept up to date.
What to do after you join
Read the rules, pick your roles and say hi in the main chat. Most servers have an onboarding screen that asks what you're into, which sets up the channels you see.
