A server tag is a four-character label and badge shown next to your name. Join a server that has one, open your profile settings, find Server Tag and pick it. Wearing one is free.
What is a server tag?
A server tag is a short label, up to four characters, paired with a small badge. You pick one from a server you're in and it shows next to your name across Discord, so people can see which community you rep.
How to get a server tag on Discord
- Join a server that has a server tag.
- Open your profile settings and look for Server Tag.
- Pick the server's tag. It saves straight away.
How to get a server tag on mobile
It works the same way in the mobile app: open your profile, edit it, find Server Tag and choose the one you want.
Is it free?
Yes. Wearing a server tag is free for members, you don't need Nitro. Only the server has to unlock it.
Can I wear more than one?
No, one at a time. You can switch to another server's tag or take it off whenever you like.
What happens when someone taps your tag?
They see that server's profile, with its name, description and a button to join. Every member wearing a tag is quietly showing their server off.
How to make a server tag for your own server
The server owner or an admin needs three Server Boosts on the Server Tag perk. That's separate from the server's boost level. Then you choose the four characters, a badge and its colours.
Server tag ideas

- Something people would wear even if they didn't know the server
How to find cool server tags to join
There's no official list. People share tags in tag directory servers, on server lists that let you filter by the guild-tag tag, and you'll spot good ones just by looking at names in busy servers.
Get the PAN tag
pannys has the
PAN tag with a pink heart badge. Join the server, open your profile settings, find Server Tag and pick PAN.
