Java or Bedrock?
Sort this out first. Java Edition is the PC version and it's where most modpacks and big community servers live. Bedrock Edition runs on consoles, phones and Windows, and Bedrock players can all play together across devices. Java and Bedrock players usually can't join each other, so always say which one you're on.
What people do together
- Survival worlds and SMPs where everyone builds their own base
- Big group builds and redstone projects
- Modpacks, from light quality-of-life packs to huge tech and magic packs
- Minigame servers like Hypixel for Bed Wars and SkyBlock
- Hardcore runs, where one death ends it for everyone
Finding people to play Minecraft with
Post your edition and what you want to do. If you're hosting, say whether it's a Realm, a server or an open LAN world, then share the address or invite once people reply. Building with someone in vc is half the fun, and nobody minds if you're quiet.
Keep the world going
The best worlds are the ones people come back to. Once you've got a few regulars, make a group chat or a thread so everyone knows when the world is up.
How to party up in Minecraft
On Bedrock, add friends with their Microsoft gamertag and join their world from the Friends tab. On Java, the host shares a server address or sends a Realms invite, and everyone joins from Multiplayer.
